“Salad Stories” (Performance)

Audience members will be invited to participate in the making of a salad and sharing stories at whatever level of participation they wish. This might range from staying off-camera and watching the performance, all the way to being on camera, making a salad, and unmuting to share stories. I will be preparing a salad and sharing stories I have about the ingredients and inviting audience members to do the same. Ideally, those who attend the panel would know ahead of time that there will be a participatory option to the performance and have some materials ready to go. Here are some of my suggestions:

  • Lettuce: Romaine, Spinach, Mesclun, Kale
  • Vegetables: Carrots, Broccoli, Beets, Cucumber, Peppers
  • Toppings: Dried fruit, Nuts, Croutons
  • Cheese: Feta cheese, Goat cheese, Shredded cheese
  • Protein: Chicken, tuna, shrimp, salmon
  • Dressing: bottled or homemade

There will also be a Discord channel available for participants to share their salads and stories, which would be something to engage with after the panel.
